The Whaling Bar is a reimagining of an iconic establishment. Originally opened in 1926 under the famous La Valencia Hotel, The Whaling Bar was beloved by locals for its exceptional food and drinks. It began a slow decline in quality over the years until the team at SDCM restaurant group decided to make a change. They took on the project of completely redesigning the restaurant, bringing it back into the light of San Diego’s top food scene.
